Saying goodbye..... (Click on the picture to see enlarged)

This is a picture of my 2 babies. This picture was taken the night before Luka died. She is the cute girl on the right with light tan and white markings. She was the love of my lfe and the most amazing angel. She died on July 4th, 2005. The last week of her life was amazing........I was going to put her down the week before, we all came to the vet to say our last goodbyes but she would have none of that. She clearly wanted to go home so home she went. I will post pictures of her return to the block at some future time. I nursed her back to health and she had the most amazing week. She suffererd an embolism the following week and died on her own at the vet. She gave me a the greatest gift of all not having to put her down. I have been numb for awhile and now I am beginning to dream about her and miss her.

Oh goodness. It is so hard to lose your loved one. I remember we had to put my "baby" down. It was the hardest day of my life! (well, then it was) It was 10 years before I could tell the story without crying. Serious!

I'm so sorry.

Gigi;

I sure know the pain of losing a damily pet. Our dog Cody was such a faithful companion to our whole family. When we found out he had an inoperable hemangeoma carcenoma we knew we wouldn't have him for much longer. At the end, we had to carry him outside to go to the bathroom andone morning I went to pick him up (he was once a beautiful dark red 70 pound Golden Retreiver now reduced to 40 or less pounds) and he looked at me like I have had enough. I knew that day was the day. He was so faithful to our family, when my oldest child began walking he used to go up and down the steps with him so he could hold on to the fur on his back for stability. Our Cody never ever missed singing along to happy birthday in our house, he had a beautiful singing voice! I realized then that he didn't deserve to live in pain, not being able to run and play like he did for his previous 11 years, He deserved better then to lay in a heap on the floor unable to lift his head, so we took him to our friend, a vet, and gave him the peace he deserved. It was one of the hardest days of my life.
