Hello all,
I havn't blogged for awhile so I thought I was due. I'm having my bathrooms re-done and it is lots of work and inconvenience and the kitchen has not even been started. Talk about having your life turned upside down. The weather in NY has been spectacular, really warm and sunny but I know the big chill is coming. I finally purchased the Who dvd from Mansfield, a show that I attended. The quality is great and so was the show. It was a fun weekend, I think Simon also played a gig at The House of Blues the day before. I had never really traveled to see a Who show before not counting Live Aid because that was a global event, it was fun to do but the travel part was a bit of a pain in the ass. I don't know how some Who fans travel all over the place...the time...the money...yuk!!! So watching the Mansfield show was somewhat nostalgic. I was also given a bootleg dvd of the Camden show from 2000 which in my humble opinion was one of the best Who shows I ever attended and watching that was great and sad at the same time. I was in the front row and had a lot of contact with the band throughout the show, especially John and watching it made me a bit sad and very very nostalgic. Pete was on fire that night. I left the show being so blown away that they could still do what they did twenty years before that. speaking of 20 years ago.....the above pictures are from Madison Square Garden in 1979. It was Kenny's birthday and Pete and Roger decided a cake fight would be a grand idea. Everyone was covered in cake! I saw the whole thing beginning to happen and ran as far as I could and escaped the mess. I don't know if Pete or Roger has ever seen these photos.., John did,.there are lots more. I hope you enjoy them.
XOX Gigi
P.S. If you enlarge the photos there are some other familiar faces peeking around corners, Bill C, Jackie C, Bobby Pridden, Regis (the accountant) Kenny's wife whose name escapes me at the moment, and me.
I didn't take these photos, they were taken by a friend of John's who's name I don't recall.

Great pictures! You are so lucky to have had so many wonderful experiences.
Nothing better than a cake fight with The Who. I'd even volunteer to lick the the cake off of them when it was done. *evilgrin*
GIGI,
Fabulous post.
Love the pics and thanks for sharing your special memories. It means so much!
Talk to you soon!

Gi,
I'm speechless from the movie.
Where is all this taking me???
Up and down with emotions.....

I thought I won prize for todays question.

I was talking about prize and then I went into my emotional diatribe about the film.

Hey Gigi,
I worked at Greatwoods in Mansfield doing the merchandising there with a great but dear departed friend Sean Fogarty. What a great friend and big brother. I did the Who many times handling the swag. I never approached the band because like I said on several occasions it wasnt good business. Decisions I allways regretted. But anyway the Mansfield show was great I have th cd also and listen to it all the time at work just to bring back memories. I posted a blog about my itch to go back on the road. Now that Im over the partying stage. Great site Im sure we both have some great stories to share with each other. I miss the scene so much. Its so much fun.and I made so much money with so many band (Stones, WHO, Motley Cru, U2 ETc)
Those photos made my day! Thanks! great blog too :)
